SCANDIA FUN FOLK DANCERS

The Scandia Fun Folk Dancers are an adult dance group based in Winnipeg. On Wednesday evenings the group meets to learn and practice dances from all 5 Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland). We enjoy performing at a variety of local events, fairs, and festivals in and around Winnipeg and Manitoba throughout the year. As well, we often travel to perform and to participate in learning workshops. Our performances at many Manitoba senior’s complexes and nursing homes have been very well received.

This dance group is frequently invited to perform at many of the cultural celebrations held at the Scandinavian Cultural Centre - such as the Norwegian Syttende Mai and the Swedish Midsommar picnic. The Scandia Fun Folk have also been featured at the Scandinavian Pavilion during Winnipeg’s Folklorama each August.
